OK folks – even though I’m not doing the haunted house anymore, I still love Halloween and spend a copious amount of time writing about it. Where? Well hit the Raven’s Barrow – it’s my blog devoted to Halloween, horror, and fantasy – and you’ll get lots of creepy goodness every week. Be sure to check my Facebook page and the fan page for the Barrow. I’m also on Twitter – http://www.twitter.com/P_Nottingham.

I thought I’d share my music list that I transmit to the neighborhood every night while my Halloween lights are on. I use an FM transmitter tied to an MP3 player and split to one of those lightning machines to flash the lights in time to the music. Not as cool as lighting controllers but it works alright for me.
The first 19 songs are ones I transmit. If you scroll all the way to the bottom I have also placed two Old Time Radio shows from the Mercury Theater. The first is the classic Orson Wells version of War of the Worlds and the other is Dracula. Greta to listen to in the dark on Halloween. If you want to download the shows you can find them on The Mercury Theatre On Air site as well as some other great shows.
By the way there folks, did you know I have a blog where I talk Halloween and horror all year long? Check out The Raven’s Barrow and you can follow me there and all the other places like Twitter and Facebook too.
My camera doesn’t do this family justice. In the dark they looked really freaky. It was home made too – all in black with glow necklaces attached they looked like creepy glowing aliens walking in the dark. I think I saw something like this in a Blue Man Group show once, but never on the streets of Altoona.
All in all a restful night even though I had to explain many times about there being no haunt this year. I felt bad, but at the same time it was nice to just sit and enjoy the kids, talk to neighbors, smell pumpkin burning from the candles, and not have to deal with crowd control, drunks, and litter.
Here’s a few other photos I snapped in a slideshow – if you can’t see it in Facebook just click the links you see to be taken to it.
Hey folks – I know everyone is disappointed we aren’t doing a haunted house this year, but here’s something to brighten your Halloween spirits. The folks down on Harrison ARE doing a haunt. Like ours it’s always free. Here’s a Google link to where they are – Haunted Garage 1401 Harrison Ave.

Regretfully there will be no haunted house at Nottingham Manor in 2009. We will of course have candy trick-or-treat night. See you then.
