Happy Tax Day!
It’s that time of year again – so just bend over and take it like a man from Uncle Sam, but make sure you have them postmarked by midnight. According to the History of the Income Tax , the federal income tax was first enacted in 1862 to support the Union’s Civil War effort. It was eliminated in 1872, revived in 1894, then declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court the following year. In 1913, the 16th Amendment to the Constitution made the income tax a permanent fixture in the U.S. tax system. Thank goodness we can just willy-nilly change the Constitution to suit the government’s needs and not the needs of the people. Whilst you’re doing your Constitutional duty be sure to watch the tax tips video I’ve placed here for you from the well-known tax expert – Wesley Snipes.
