I have been following Moller International’s efforts to produce a sky car for several years now. Here’s a little video on their M200X Volanator that has completed over 200 successful flights. I’ve seen some controversy on the crane in the background, but I did hear an interview with the CEO once who said they use it as a tether and not to actually pick the thing up. Best to have a leash on your UFO if you’re not sure it will stay in the air or do what you want. The idea has always been to produce a flying car that will autopilot where’ver you want to go, run on veggie oil, and still fly even if half the engines crap out – I especially like that last one.

At about 42 seconds, I see something pulling at the bar on top. I’d say crane too! Though the blowing grass underneath is a nice effect

I think I may trade in my bike for one of those if they are ever cheap enough. Looks like it could be fun!

Yeah, they have had a bit of problem with these. While I don’t think the crane is actually doing the whole lifting it does act as a tether when the thing goes a bit wonky. This has been this guy’s dream for decades, and the company actually got successful as they developed new engine technologies and sold them to the military. Thanks for stopping by.
