Strange Auctions – Bid Low and Win

Strange Readers have you ever heard of an auction where the lowest unique bid wins it? I’ve been on eBay lots of times and not bid high enough, but here’s a new site where the lowest unique bid wins. This site is called bid4prizes and here’s how it works. The essential idea is for you to find a prize you like. Then you bid for it in the “game”. Yes – it is a game and complete crazy people are not out there giving away stuff for nothing. Once you place a bid you find out if your bid is low, high, unique, or duplicate. For example say you see a Television worth $1000.00 – you bid 75 cents but 12 other people did too – your bid is not unique and the game begins. Your job is to try and find the unique low bid with all the tips you get so you can walk away with the prize. So what do you end up paying? This is the best part – You do not pay anything if you win the prize other than shipping costs and of course you have to give the tax man his due for the value of the prize. Sounds cool to me. Check them out and let me know what you won for the lowest unique bid from bid4prizes.

I think that this is a good idea for a business model, but I think I would be afraid to sell something on there. What if there was a fluke bid that ended up way too low? Scary? Or do I not understand the concept correctly?
