1033 Foot Crop Circle Forms in 90 Minutes

Approximately 3:20 AM, Saturday, July 7, 2007, Alton Priors, Wiltshire, England. Sony digital still frame in pre-dawn misty haze from atop Knap Hill looking toward Woodborough Hill (center dark clump of trees near horizon.) Vast wheat formation of at least 100 circles spread across 1,033 feet was created some time in the previous 90 minutes. Read the full story at Earthfiles.

Saw an interesting show on the Discovery Channel about crop circles yesterday. While it didn’t go much into different theories about how crop circles might form, it did demonstrate that it is possible to create a crop circle and all of its associated phenomena (such as expulsion holes and iron pellets) with inexpensive, if somewhat complicated, tools.

Yes, I’ve seen it too. The Discovery Channel show tends to leave out key bits of information that have been discovered by such folks as microbiologist W.C.Levengood who details how the plants are effected at the cellular level as if they were hit with a high intensity microwave energy plasma. The plants in circles that demonstrate these anomalies continue to live and bear fruit (the ones crushed by boards do not – sometimes altering the growth cycles and fruit maturation dates so that the glyphs actually appear shaded or of different colors as in the English crop rape. The “guys with boards” explanation also doesn’t explain how some crop glyphs are layered in such a way that the plants actually go in different directions depending upon depth or how some glyphs, such as the famous fractal glyph at Stonehenge, while being more than 1000 feet across appeared in less than 15 minutes from observations taken by security guards at nearby Stonehenge. Even the one above at 1033 feet across, if it were created in 90 minutes would be a staggering task for any group of circle makers to do undetected or in the time allotted. I do agree that many, if not most, of these formation may be made by people. However the anomalous ones simply cannot be faked by these ordinary means. Nor can the ones that were detailed as “fairy rings” in historic texts for the last five hundred years or so or the one observed in the ice of the Arctic and sands in the desert. The Discovery Channel is mostly biased and simply does not give its viewers all the facts IMHO. See the following link for Levengood’s writings on this.
