Currently Listening to Modern English – I Melt With You (from Quarantine)
I was in 10th grade when this song hit the airwaves. If you’re not a person who came of age in the early 80s you might have heard it in Stranger Things on Netflix. I, however, remember it most from the movie Valley Girl which starred a very young Nic Cage.
I found this version of I Melt With You on the Nerdist. Yes, we’ve all been stuck in our houses more than normal, but out of that has come some amazing art. Hearing this made me happier than I would’ve thought it should’ve. Maybe that’s the anxiety of 2020 looking for any excuse chill and be joyful or maybe it’s just a damn good song to stir my nostalgia. Either way I hope you enjoy it if you’ve stumbled onto it here.
